"D&C 29: 7 And ye are called to bring to pass the gathering of mine elect; for mine elect hear my voice and harden not their hearts; 8 Wherefore the decree hath gone forth from the Father that they shall be GATHERED in unto one place upon the face of this land, to prepare their hearts and be prepared in all things against the day when tribulation and desolation are sent forth upon the wicked. When we choose to not gather, when we choose to walk away from the stronghold of the church, the strength that we find in the other members of the church, that is a choice that prevents us from letting God prevail in our lives. Because these scriptures teach us that if we are willing to hear his voice to harden our hearts and to be gathered, then we can prepare our hearts and be prepared in all things. Our willingness to be gathered and to let God prevail in our lives is what will prepare us for the time ahead.”"
