"Awrah in islaam Awrah is a term used within islaam which denotes intimate parts of the body for both men and women which must be covered with clothing. A man's awrah refers to the part of the body between the navel and the knees which must be covered in public and also during the prayer. A woman's awrah should be covered except her face and her hands in front of non-mahrams. A woman's awrah among other women is the same as awrah among men which is between the navel and her knees. Nevertheless there is no awrah between couples meaning there is nothing to hide between husband and wife."
