"HOW TO REPAIR HOLES IN A METAL DOOR - Sand the surface down to the bare metal at the hole area. Remove sanding dust. Apply rust remover with a wire brush to any rusty areas. Clean door w/degreaser and a clean cloth. Use an auto body filler, not a wood filler, to properly fill in the hole. Following manufacturer's instructions, mix the bonding filler with the hardener. Then, using a putty knife, apply a smooth layer. Overfill to form a slight mound. Allow to dry. Sand and smooth the patch. Remove dust. If there are any recessed holes, repeat step above. Once dry, do a final sanding. Apply rust-inhibiting paint primer. Dry completely. Apply 2 coats of rust-inhibiting paint, drying in between coats."
