"CONTRAST DOMINANCE ~ Dominance is what we see and notice first. Color Contrast Dominance ~ If someone is color contrast dominant, the first thing you will notice about their coloring is color in their features - eye color, hair color, skin color. Note that a pinkish or golden skin can create an extra level of color in features. Such a person will look best when wearing multiple colors that are in harmony with their coloring and will appear bland in neutrals. Value Contrast Dominant ~ If someone is value contrast dominant, the first thing you will notice about their coloring is the values of their features. They will most likely be high contrast (light and dark features) or they will be low contrast (very similar value). They are less likely to be medium value contrast. Such people tend to have neutral coloring, rather than any sort of obvious skin, hair or eye color and will tend to look best when wearing the value that best harmonizes with their own – either high contrast or low contrast. They usually look better in more monochromatic outfits, rather than multiple colors at the same time. Equal Color and Contrast Dominance ~ Such people typically need some color in an outfit, but of only a medium to low value contrast to look their best. They can look dull in a completely monochromatic outfit. They are ideal in neutral plus one or two colors."
