Do you ever feel like you're starting a race from behind and believe that you have entered too late, and there's no chance of catching up with those who are already ahead? When I find myself in these situations, I am reminded of the classic children's story "The Tortoise and the Hare." In the story, both the tortoise and hare begin the race, but the hare quickly sprints ahead, leaving the tortoise far behind. It may seem like the hare is going to win, but in the end, the tortoise surpasses and beats the hare due to the hare's overconfidence and laziness. This story reminds me that opportunities exist for everyone, no matter when they enter the race. What matters most is persistence and endurance. I recently came across a quote by Thomas S. Monsoon that says, "God left the world unfinished for man to work his skill upon. He left the electricity in the cloud, the oil in the earth. He left the rivers unabridged and the forests unfelled and cities unbuilt. God gives to man the challenge of raw materials, not the ease of finished things. He leaves the pictures unpainted and the music unsung and the problems unsolved, that man might know the joys and glories of creation." So, no matter how late you feel you are, remember that there is still time to paint your pictures, write your stories, create your music, and discover scientific wonders. Your race isn't over yet, it's just begun.

"God gives to man the challenge of raw materials, not the ease of finished things. He leaves the pictures unpainted and the music unsung and the problems unsolved, that man might know the joys and glories of creation."

- Thomas S. Monson
